Interested in knowledge transfer initiatives and being able to explain your research to others? Then don’t miss the Researchers in Residence Briefing Meeting at The University of Manchester, tomorrow 20th January 2010 @ 12pm in University Place 3.214,
What is Researchers in Residence? Briefly explained, this scheme is funded by RCUK and the Wellcome Trust. It seeks to engage young researchers to work with young people and teachers during innovative placements in secondary schools from across the UK. This really is an excellent opportunity to think about the impact of your research and initiatives like these are constantly being promoted by the research councils – ideal if you are looking to secure an academic position and want to prove that your research really does make a difference. For more information please visit their website: http://www.researchersinresidence.ac.uk/cms/
This information session will be delivered by the North West Researchers in Residence coordinator, Rob Bradstock. Rob will provide an outline and an overview of the scheme and what you can get from taking part. There will also be the opportunity to hear from University of Manchester researchers who took part in the scheme last year.
