To celebrate the new issue of the STEPS postgraduate training newsletter, STEPS is holding a free afternoon tea party on Wednesday 24 March, 4:00-5:30pm
With an introduction by Professor Jim Miles, Associate Dean (Graduate Education, EPS) the event includes:
— free tea/coffee, homemade cake and biscuits!
— a training workshop run by the Postgraduate Careers Advisor, Elizabeth Wilkinson: “The Researcher as Social Being: Get a Life, Get Ahead.” In association with the Burlington Society (www.burlington.manchester.ac.uk
— meet the STEPS editors — postgraduate researchers like you!
— a chance to win a copy of the book “Piled Higher and Deeper” by Jorge Cham – a compilation of the legendary comics from phdcomics.com
— useful information about training opportunities you didn’t know existed

Where: The event will be in the beautiful environment of the old Schunck Room, above the Burlington Bar on Burlington Street (next to the John Rylands University Library). It will be followed by a Burlington Society event in the Burlington Bar, continuing the workshop’s theme.
