The 2014/2015 Simon and Hallsworth scheme briefing will take place on Tuesday 14 October 2014, 12:00 – 13:00, Ellen Wilkinson Building, Room A3.7
The original bequests made in the early 1940s represent the largest endowment to the University and fund several full-time, 3 year research Fellowships each year. The scheme aims to support early career researchers to undertake high quality research and to develop various elements of their research and knowledge exchange skills. The Fellowships must be held in Manchester, and must be in the areas of either Social Science or Political Economy (broadly defined). All applicants have to have been awarded a PhD prior to the application round deadline.
The upcoming briefing session is divided into three parts:
1. Professor Claire Annesley, Assistant Associate Dean (Research), and Chair of the Simon and Hallsworth Committee, will introduce the Fellowship, talk about the peer reviewing process, and explain what makes a good application.
2. A current Fellow will share their experience of applying for this Fellowship.
3. There will be a Q&A session where you will be able to ask any questions you have related to this Fellowship.
