We at Post-Crash Economics Society would like to invite you to join Dianne Coyle, Steve Keen, George Cooper and one other unconfirmed guest for the panel event – “How should economics change?”
Date: Tuesday 4th Nov
Venue: Roscoe Lecture Theatre A
The publication of our report, entitled “Economics, Education and Unlearning”, stirred lively worldwide debate about economics reform, warranting responses from across the globe and reaching as far as nobel prize winner, Paul Krugman. The report lamented an absence of historical, political and philosophical context in economics, a complete lack of pluralism, and the inapplicability of the theory we learn to the real world. Students leave university critically disengaged and unable to challenge the often faulty premises and conclusions of mainstream economics.
The financial crisis and subsequent events have seen the voices of those challenging mainstream economics become louder and more numerous. There is broad agreement that economics needs to change. The question remains, how?
