Pathways is a major, University-wide careers event for PhD researchers and research staff. Now in its 9th year, Pathways welcomes around 600 researchers annually from across the University. The event is designed to support you in exploring your future plans and discovering the breadth of opportunities available to you.

The morning will consist of “Question and Answer” panel sessions with people who have either completed their PhDs or moved on from university research posts in the last 10 years. In the afternoon, a panel of employers and others will provide advice on the practicalities of getting jobs with a doctorate. This year, our Director of Student Life, Dr Paul Redmond, will talk about how job markets are changing and what that might mean for researchers.

If you’re a current or recent PhD or member of research or teaching staff from the University of Manchester, this event is for you, and it’s free. We also provide a free lunch.

To register, please go to the following link:

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

For further information, please do not hesitate to contact Nia Watkin jones, Pathways Manager,

We look forward to seeing you at Pathways on the 4th June.
