“Petitioning from 1750 to the present” is a symposium to be held at the University of Manchester, 29-30 June 2015, bringing together distinguished political and social scientists as well as historians, including from Harvard, the Sorbonne and Leiden.

Please see the call for papers (deadline 25 May) which is attached and also available from this link http://events.history.ac.uk/event/show/14299 postgraduates in SoSS, as may be interested in speaking or attending. We are very keen to have Ph. D. students involved, and will run a poster strand if there is sufficient interest.  Papers on e-petitioning or petitioning in the contemporary context are welcome.
