Call for papers:

First Conference on Sub-Saharan African Development

Sub-Saharan Africa Research Society (SARS) is currently made up of Postgraduate research students from various faculties within Newcastle University and our goal is to create a platform for critical discourse on Sub-Saharan African (SSA) issues and facilitate research collaboration between fellow researchers and stakeholders for the purpose of producing meaningful projects that would have sustainable impacts in SSA countries.

In line with the above objective, SARS is organising its very first annual conference with an aim of bringing together researchers and other stakeholders in tackling the challenges facing SSA countries. The society welcomes submission of research papers on issues of SSA development (e.g. security, law, politics, economy, finance, education, health, agriculture, environment, science and technology etc.).

The conference will involve presentations from our Keynote Speakers and Research Students. The conference will have two sessions: The morning session involve PhD students’ presentations on SSA issues and the afternoon session involves discussions on ‘Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in sub-Saharan Africa by 2030’. We aim to produce a conference paper from the ideas presented for the benefit of all stakeholders. Awards will be given to the best PhD paper and poster presentations.
