Reminder: Enterprise in Humanities Funding Open, Deadline 4th Dec

Expressions of Interest are invited, and all submissions should be emailed to by Friday 4th December 2015

Entrepreneurial skills of networking, marketing and self-motivation are increasingly sought both inside and outside of academia. If you are thinking of moving to industry after your PhD degree or you are heading for an academic career, being able to demonstrate business awareness and the ability to tackle real-world challenges and contribute to the social and economic success of the wider community is a must. This is also true for academia especially since REF (Research Excellence Framework) has been introduced in 2014 to assess research’s quality and its ability to create ‘an effect on, change or benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia’.

Enterprise in the Humanities programme offers a tailored programme of mentoring (with milestones to be agreed with each individual participant/team) in collaboration with industry partners active in the sector/organisation you are interested in, in order to shape and progress your project idea; and an award of £500 to be used towards the project (you can choose to apply as an individual or as a team).

We look forward to receiving your submissions:
