UMIP Propeller Fund – Got a business idea?

As part of the recently launched Innovation Optimiser, the UMIP Enterprise Team are proud to announce the Propeller Fund. Selected candidates are to receive expert mentoring assistance and funding support to catapult their business ideas toward fruition and success. Entries can be anything from a simple idea, to a fully formed business plan. We also encourage entries previously submitted to alternate business pitching and planning competitions within and outside of the University.

To apply please download and fill the entry application form in the link below:

Entry application forms must be sent to by the 14th of February.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a business model workshop, in which they will have an opportunity to discuss and work on their business idea and get expert support for the final submission. We recognize that for many potential student entrepreneurs the most important activities they can undertake at this stage are detailed business planning (i.e. Market analysis/Developing your pitch/Assessing competitors and other barriers to the market) and networking to gauge the opinions of expert industry figures. Hence, the Propeller fund is all about helping you to develop your idea!!! Priming your business in preparation for further competition submissions, funding applications and success!

Key dates:

11 Feb – Propeller Fund launch event – Confessions of an Entrepreneur

14 Feb – Deadline to send entry application forms

18 Feb – Business model workshop and mentoring

25 Feb – Final submission deadline

29 Feb – Successful applicants notified

Note: Shortlisted applicants will be notified after the 18th of February and are highly encouraged to attend the business model workshop held on the afternoon of the 18th of February.

Best wishes,

UMIP enterprise associates
